About Crypto Profit Simulator
The Crypto Profit Simulator is a free, browser-based toolkit designed to help cryptocurrency investors make smarter, data-driven decisions. Whether you're planning a trade, analysing past performance, or testing future scenarios, this tool gives you accurate insights instantly—without requiring sign-ups or server-side processing.
Unlike many basic calculators, the simulator accounts for trading fees on both buy and sell transactions, giving you a more realistic picture of your actual profit or loss.
All calculations run entirely in your browser, ensuring:
- 100% privacy — no data is stored or transmitted
- Real-time results — instant updates as you type
- No dependencies — works offline after loading
The toolkit includes four powerful features:
- Profit Calculator
- Scenario Simulator
- DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging) Calculator
- Break-even Calculator

Formulas and Examples
The simulator uses a consistent and realistic two-sided fee model, meaning fees are applied when you buy and when you sell.
Core Formulas
Buy Fee = Investment × (Fee% / 100)
Effective Invest = Investment − Buy Fee
Coins = Effective Investment / Buy Price
Gross Value = Coins × Sell Price
Sell Fee = Gross Value × (Fee% / 100)
Final Value = Gross Value − Sell FeeProfit & ROI
Profit / Loss = Final Value − Investment
ROI (%) = (Profit / Loss / Investment) × 100Example
Let’s say:
- Investment = $1,000
- Buy Price = $100
- Sell Price = $150
- Fee = 1%
Step-by-step:
- Buy Fee = $10
- Coins = 9.9
- Final Value = $1,470.15
- Profit = $470.15
- ROI = 47.02%
This shows how fees impact real returns—something many calculators ignore.
DCA Formula
Total Coins = Σ (Monthly Investment / Price_i)
Average Cost = Total Invested / Total CoinsDCA naturally lowers your average cost because you buy more when prices are low and less when prices are high.
Example
You invest $100 every month for 3 months:
| Month | Price | Coins Bought |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $50 | 100 / 50 = 2.0 |
| 2 | $100 | 100 / 100 = 1.0 |
| 3 | $200 | 100 / 200 = 0.5 |
✅ Results
- Total Invested = $300
- Total Coins = 3.5
- Average Cost = 300 / 3.5 = $85.71
Break-even Formula
You must sell at $102.03 just to recover your $1,000 investment.
Break-even Price = Investment / (Coins × (1 − Fee% / 100))This is the exact price required to recover your full investment after fees.
Example
Let’s assume:
- Investment = $1,000
- Buy Price = $100
- Fee = 1%
Step-by-step:
- Buy Fee = $1,000 × 1% = $10
- Effective Investment = $990
- Coins Bought = 990 / 100 = 9.9 coins
Now calculate break-even price:
- Break-even Price = 1000 / (9.9 × 0.99) ≈ $102.03
✅ Result
You must sell at $102.03 just to recover your $1,000 investment.
FAQs
Does the tool use live crypto prices?
No. All values are entered manually. The simulator works completely offline and does not fetch market data.
Why is my profit lower than expected?
Because the tool includes fees on both buy and sell, which significantly affect returns—especially for small price movements.
What fee should I enter?
Use your exchange’s taker fee:
- Centralized exchanges: ~0.05% – 0.25%
- DEX platforms: ~0.25% – 1%
Why is break-even higher than my buy price?
Even small fees increase the required exit price because you must recover both entry and exit costs.
Is my data stored anywhere?
No. The tool does not store data, use cookies, or send information to any server.
Can I use this for stocks or forex?
Yes. The formulas are universal and work for any asset with buy/sell prices.
Why is DCA average lower than my average price?
Because DCA uses a weighted average, where more funds are allocated when prices are lower—reducing your overall cost basis.
